A delightful stay at Clos Mirabel – not once but twice. Close to Pau airport and a hop and a skip from a fabulous 2-star Michelin restaurant, Clos Mirabel is a lovely place to visit. Ann and Andre welcomed us most warmly, had all the local knowledge to enhance our enjoyment of the area and also gave us an exceptional breakfast. Rooms are very comfortable with excellent brand new bathrooms.

Ann and Andre… what can we say. From our arrival at Clos Mirabel with tea on the terrace, through 2 wonderful days, we felt treated, and special, and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality. Clos Mirabel delivers all that it says it will, and the breakfasts were locally sourced or made by Ann and DELICIOUS! If we are in the South of France again, we will be back for more. Thanks so much to your family, Ann and Andre. We really appreciate your care. Beate and Steve, Carolyn and Norton, Australia.

Snowstorms in Paris forced me to spend an unplanned night in Pau, where I am as I write this. I hope the weather improves tomorrow in the North of France…….. Or not? Because of my job, I travel extensively and am oh so tired of Chain Hotels of all sizes and number of stars. I decided to look for something else than canned hospitality for this sunny December Sunday and came across Clos Mirabel….. From the moment I stepped out of the car I had the very strange feeling of returning to a well known, homey place. Ann and André make you feel at home like in very few other places I have been. Their Hospitality is honest, fresh and straight. I was born in the Pyrenees and can confidently say that I have seen beautiful views of these mountains. The one from the backyard, on this sunny Winter afternoon was world class. I could have spent hours there. The house and rooms are beautifully appointed. A log in the fireplace, a cup of tea, a Sunday newspaper….. The Paris snowstorm seemed like from another planet. Mind you, the house is wired and wified, so keeping in touch with the outside world was simple and…… necessary. Access is a little tricky, so power up your GPS before getting up here. Roads were a bit of a challenge, with some icy patches that I had to negotiate carefully, but it was well worth it. Get yourself a rental car if you didn’t bring your own. The region is so pretty that it would be a shame if you didn’t. 20 mn away from the Pau Pyrenees airport, I am really going to miss this place when I jump in the Paris plane tomorrow morning.
