Easter is that time of year when most of us are ready to blow away the cobwebs and recharge our batteries after surviving the miserable weather and long, dark nights of winter

Why not make the most of it this year and enjoy a well-deserved Easter break to one of France’s most picturesque regions – the Pyrénées Atlantiques in South West France?

Clos Mirabel in Jurançon, Pau offers several choices for Easter Breaks in Bed & Breakfast or fully furnished Holiday Rentals ideal for family holidays.

We have a fantastic knowledge of the local area including attractions and excursions that are perfect for families. Since the Easter holidays are looming, here is Clos Mirabel Manor’s round up of family favourites in and around Pau:

1.Gourette This ski resort, less than an hour from Clos Mirabel, boasts an array of family friendly activities including snowshoeing, dog sledding and snake tobogganing (think ‘long, fabulously hilarious toboggan train winding its way through the snow’).

2.Forêt des vert’tiges Only 20 minutes from Clos Mirabel, the forêt des vert’tigesoffers an unforgettable tree top forest adventure for the whole family (3+).

3.Grottes de Bétharram Take a magical journey through a vast network of beautiful caves by foot, boat and train. With its stunning subterranean formations and waterfalls, this is a must see local experience.

4.Asson Zoo offers a rich and rewarding experience with its array of exotic animals including panthers and snow leopards. Visitors are able to mingle with some of the animals in semi-freedom including kangaroos and lemurs. Public animal-feeding sessions every day.

5.Lourdes has many things to interest youngsters including Lourdes Musée Grevin (aka Lourdes Waxworks Museum). Kids will be fascinated by scenes from the Bible including the Nativity and Last Supper.

6.Stade Nautique with its indoor and outdoor swimming pools is guaranteed to burn off the Easter egg sugar rush. At only 3,60 euros for adults and 3,10 euros for kids it’s an affordable option too.

7.Walking Trails Let the kids run free along some of the most beautiful, peaceful and scenic walking trails in south west France. Some of the trails can be accessed directly from Clos Mirabel’s 15 acre estate.

We believe that holidays provide a lifetime’s supply of happy memories for children and as a family run business we are always on hand to help you plan your day trips and to ensure you get the very most out of your stay.

Clos Mirabel is a beautiful fifteen-acre estate between coast and mountains.
