The Tutor
Jude Scott is an award winning artist who specialises in watercolour and lives in Perth, Western Australia.
Her art education began with ceramics at Technical Colleges in Perth and Sydney, afterwards working as a potter for several years, Jude then began painting. She has since studied oils, acrylics, drawing and watercolour with professional artists and tutors in Western Australia and NSW Australia and in China.
Jude says «I am drawn to the magical medium of watercolour because of its diverse nature. From the powerful opaque darks through to the lightest, most delicate washes of translucent pastel tones to rich and vibrant colours, the wonderful textures and effects thatcan beproduced in watercolour I find endlessly fascinating. Watercolour can also be notorious for its unpredictability, whichis all part of the challenge. I could never just paint a limited range of subjects, the world is far too interesting! I feel compelled to tackle a diverse range of subjects, everything from motorbikes to florals, fascinating faces and our wonderful Australian landscapes ……I am never at a loss for my next painting!»
A popular demonstrator and tutor Jude has tutored workshops from Perth to Newman in the North West of Western Australia to Margaret River in the south as well as local councils, the West Australian education department and community arts groups.
